The Cape Breton University Students’ Union advocates for a high-quality, fully accessible education system that recognizes students as the priority in the educational process. The Students’ Union seeks to provide accountable representation characterized by open participation and empowerment of its membership.

The Cape Breton University Students’ Union is comprised of five (5) Executive Members, Students Representative Council (SRC) members, two (2) senior full-time staff and other staff and several Coordinators

Students’ Union Fee
Every student at CBU, except for MBA students (who must opt-in manually), is a member of the Students’ Union by default, as outlined in The Cape Breton University Students’ Union Act. With this automatic membership comes a fee attached to every 3-credits taken at CBU. Due to the current financial standing of the CBUSU, we are decreasing this fee from $24.00 (CAD)/ 3-credit course to $22.50 (CAD)/ 3-credit course; this change is set to take place beginning in Fall 2021.
