About us
The CBUSU is a not-for-profit organization for students, run by students, that represents a strong community of approximately 3,000+ students at CBU, including people of different nationalities, races, and genders. We are committed to offering services that help fulfill the diverse needs of the student body. We are your Union, and we are here to represent you, guide you, and help you get the most out of your university experience. We have been united for over 50 years and will continue to support students for many years to come. Our focus is on advocacy, services, and events.
The Students' Union provides many services for students, in addition to our lobbying efforts. For a complete list, please see our services page. We assist new and returning students to help them feel included, safe, and involved in the local community, and to help them adapt to local culture, business, and people. Every student at CBU, except for Master’s students (who must opt in manually), is a member of the Students’ Union by default, as outlined in the Cape Breton University Students’ Union Act.
We are here to give you your best year. We aim to make your time here as informative, interactive, and enjoyable as possible.
