EMERGENCY BURSARY FUND
The Emergency Bursary Fund (EBF) is a Students’ Union service that helps students through unforeseen short-term financial difficulties. If you are in need of assistance, please come to the Students’ Union office and complete a request form. You can also download the request form below. This service is for those students who are dealing with unforeseen financial difficulties. Financial information will be kept in the strictest confidence.
A four-member committee comprised of CBUSU staff will assess your circumstances and decide whether you are eligible for this assistance.
Eligibility for receiving an emergency bursary is determined on an individual basis.
The CBU Students’ Union reserves the right to ask applicants for personal information regarding financial circumstances, as well as to verify any relevant third-party information provided by the student.
Students are restricted to one bursary per academic year.
Bursary amounts are calculated on a case-by-case basis.
To receive a bursary, a student must be a current member of the CBUSU (master’s students are not members by default and must select to opt-in if they want to be a member).
Providing a valid student ID is required.
